About Lauren Groomz

Originally from the West Country, I studied Psychology and Psychiatry before beginning a career in hospitality management in London. After ten years in the industry, I moved to West Sussex in search of a better work–life balance and the opportunity to pursue something more meaningful.

It didn’t take long for me to return to my roots and realise a childhood dream of working with animals. I started my own dog walking business and went on to study dog training with the Guild of Dog Trainers (GoDT), alongside completing a Level 2 course in Dog Psychology at Plumpton College. I’m also mum to two wonderfully crazy spaniels, a fosterer for Spaniel Aid, and I organise local spaniel walks in the area.

My journey into grooming began when I trained in Dog Grooming and Salon Management with iPET Network. After qualifying, I worked with a local groomer in their home salon before moving with the team into a high street salon.

In the summer of 2024, I set up Lauren Groomz from home. I believe a less time-pressured approach can make a big difference for many dogs. Grooming one-to-one allows me to work at each dog’s pace, building trust and ensuring they feel comfortable — whether that means taking things slowly, sitting on the floor with them, or stopping for a cuddle.

My aim is to create a calm, quiet environment where dogs can have a positive grooming experience.

And of course, my resident spaniel Chewie is always on hand to greet clients and help put them at ease.
